THIS is how 2020 is supposed to start!

With success stories.

It’s January the 5th, and already I have had two huge business success stories.

Let’s break a couple of those words down – HUGE. SUCCSESS.

Huge – now, if someone like  Monica Eaton-Cardone* were to tell you she had a HUGE business success story to tell – you would expect something massive. World changing. Life changing for some people.

Mine, well I completed my first ever paid writing job. And for me, a write of many decades, is amazing.

I have written articles that have been published, and MANY more that have not been published too. I have written a novel (thank you Nanowrimo) which is quite frankly awful, and many other little creative writing bits. But this, this is my first paid writing job. I wrote the blerb to a website. And moments after the chap paid me, he asked me to do more work for him! Repeat work within an hour of the last one being finished – now that’s not bad at all!

My second success story – I had some fantastic feedback from my one to one client. FANTASTIC. I have known I am good at one to one emotional support for many years, but time off to produce and bring up my babies meant my confidence was knocked a bit. That time off hasn’t hindered me at all – if anything it’s given me the strength to reflect on how I work, and it’s given me lots of time to do some extra research.

So, there we have it. Two huge business success stories from me. Huge for me now. Successful for me now. I’m going to have a celebratory glass of something, and a take away!

I also want to acknowledge, that while I was creating these success stories, other parts of my life were left on the side line I am acutely aware that I can’t have it all… but I can try.

* Monica Eaton-Cardone is the leader of The Chargeback Company and its US counterpart Chargebacks911, she helped create a solution that combines her wealth of risk management experience with practical strategies developed through hands-on involvement in the card-not-present retail world (she created a system to deal with chargebacks). And she’s a brilliant business woman. I originally wrote “Richard Branson”, as we all know who he is… But then wanted a British female instead. Had to do a bit of searching, glad I did, am now well educated in some amazing British business women!
